Champion Beyond C – 2020
September being sickle awareness month, Humanity Rescue Foundation (HRF) will be holding the ‘Champion Beyond C’ awareness events themed “Amplifying voices for Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) inclusion and Change” The event shall involve persons living with Sickle Cell Disease and Caregivers of Persons Living with Sickle Cell Disease as the primary participants of the competition, as well as recognize other stakeholders championing for inclusion and change in the fight to curb Sickle Cell Disease.
The 2020 event will be an online competition that invites participants globally to make applications and/or nominate participants in the following categories:
Application and Nominations
(Friday 10th July – Friday 31st July 2020)
Applications will be done by the persons living with Sickle Cell Disease and their care givers.
The public will nominate persons to award from institutions, researchers, advocacy groups, Media influencers, government offices, individuals and social spaces that have influenced positively the lives of persons and the fight to curb SCD discourse.
Short listing and notification of participants
(Monday 3rd August – Friday 7th August 2020)
A panel of five Judges shall shortlist the participants and nominees, the planning team shall notify them of their participation via email
Voting Process(Monday 10th August – Friday 18th September 2020)
Participants will be allowed to garner votes that will be part of the Judging process
Champion Beyond C – Online Edition(Saturday 26th September 2020)
The online event will include participants’ creative wear videos, informative videos from participants, music breaks and award ceremony for winners

The applicants will be required to complete this application form and share a one minute video clip of themselves talking about their innovative way to influence inclusion and change in Sickle Cell Disease interventions. | We invite all persons to nominate Sickle cell disease advocacy groups, Medical Practitioners, Mental health practitioners, Researchers, Media influencers, Institutions(Medical, educational, research, churches, Media and other institutions), Governments and policy influencers that have/are positively influencing inclusion and change in the fight to curb Sickle Cell Disease.
