Sickle cell program seeks to provide psycho-social support to persons living and affected by sickle cell anemia as well economic empowerment.
We aim to support our cause through providing alternative sources of income to patients, clinic services, and support groups.

In 2019, based on the experience, expertise and challenges of some of HRF members necessitated the formation of a sickle cell anemia management (clinic, support groups: affordable and accessible medication), and social-economic support system (advocacy & alternative sources of income) from this, the candle of Hope program was conceptualized. The program was officially launched in June 29th 2019 together with the launch of the Catherine’s Sickle Cell Clinic in partnership with Houghton Medical Clinic.
